Dr. Khalid Sulehri, a prominent human rights advocate, Founder of Pakistan Human Rights Party and the President of the International Human Rights Observer (IHRO), met with the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, to discuss the pressing issue of human rights violations in Pakistan.
During the meeting, Dr. Sulehri expressed his deep concern over the increasing cases of human rights abuses across the country, including issues related to freedom of expression, minority rights, and the treatment of marginalized communities. He emphasized the need for stronger government intervention to protect the rights of all citizens and called for the implementation of more robust policies to address these violations effectively.
President Dr. Arif Alvi acknowledged the concerns raised by Dr. Sulehri and reiterated the government’s commitment to upholding human rights as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s democratic values. He assured that the government would take necessary measures to address these concerns and work closely with organizations like IHRO to ensure that the rights of all Pakistanis are protected.
The meeting concluded with both leaders agreeing on the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration between the government and civil society to combat human rights violations and promote justice and equality in Pakistan.
